Bus Service - amendment to route

As part of the on-going assessment of our recently introduced bus service and as a result of feedback received, the route followed by our two buses will change - rather than going via Gravel Lane, Vicarage Lane will be used to travel between Chigwell Row and Chigwell High Road. This change will be effective as of Wednesday 17th October. This change should introduce greater reliability and reduce journey times for users of the service. Read More...

Chigwell Bus Service - Amended timetables

Due to our own observations and feedback from residents, new amended timetables have been introduced as of Friday 5th October. These new timetables will ensure that those wishing to use the buses to attend either Chigwell Primary School or West Hatch School, will be able to arrive in good time in the morning, and should also be able to then get home again in the evening. The Parish Council always knew that there would be changes to the timetables to take into account local views and to ensure that the service meets the needs of as many residents as possible. Annual Best Allotment Competition

Last weekend saw the presentation of certificates to the winners of the Chigwell Parish Council Best Allotment Competition, by chairman of the Environment Committee, Councillor Brian P. Sandler. The best allotment winner for the Limes Avenue site is Mr. Jurijus Juria. The winner for the Gravel Lane site is Karen Godfrey. Read More...

Chigwell Bus Service - Pictures

On Friday 7th September the two buses purchased by Chigwell Parish Council for the forthcoming free local service arrived. At an event on the Station Road Green, Parish Councillors, lead by the Parish Chairman, Councillor Darshan Sunger, were present to officially receive the buses. They also took the opportunity to issue bus passes to residents, and explain the benefits of the new service. Read More...

Issue of Bus Passes

To facilitate the issue of bus passes for the new Chigwell bus service, the parish office in Hainault Road will be open from 10.00 - 12.00 hrs on both Saturday 1st September and Saturday 8th September. Passes are free. All we will need is your name, address and an email address, where possible. Residents are also welcome to call into the parish office during opening hours. Read More...

Chigwell Neighbourhood Plan - Notice of an exploratory meeting.

The chosen examiner for the Chigwell Neighbourhood Plan, John Slater, has chosen to hold an exploratory meeting to examine a number of issues relating to this plan. The meeting will take place at the Parish Council Offices, Hainault Road, Chigwell, on Wednesday 5th September at 10 am. The meeting is open to the public, but only representatives of Chigwell Parish Council and Epping Forest District Council will be able to participate. Read More...

Launch of free Chigwell Bus Service!

Chigwell Parish Council, working in partnership with Epping Forest Community Transport, is launching a free local bus service on Monday 10th September. A leaflet drop to all residential addresses in the parish will take place soon, to provide further information. Chigwell Neighbourhood Plan - Update

Following publication by Epping Forest District Council of their assessment of Chigwell Parish Council's Neighbourhood Plan, Councillor Richard Alvin, Vice-Chairman of the Parish Council said " The council is disappointed that Epping Forest District Council feels that elements of our Neighbourhood Plan fails in some of its policies. Chigwell Parish Council and its appointed specialist planning consultants have spent a lot of time to bring forward a plan which represents the wishes of its residents and feels that its plan is fully compliant. The council looks forward to the examination of its Neighbourhood Plan scheduled to take place in September or October of this year and we look forward to answering any questions the examiner may have and are looking forward to being able to take the plan to referendum in due course". Grounds maintenance - Chigwell Parish

Chigwell Parish Council has now taken in-house responsibility for grounds maintenance around the parish, including Chigwell Cemetery.
