Roding Rotary Club Visit – Community Engagement

On Monday 15 June, the Chair of Chigwell Parish Council, Cllr Debby Rye, attended a weekly meeting of the
Roding Rotary Club, held at
The Queen Victoria public house in Theydon Bois. The Club includes several Chigwell residents among its membership.
Roding Rotary Club is a friendly and active voluntary group that raises funds for charitable causes and supports the local community. Previous events have included organised trips for children with additional needs, as well as community fundraising events such as quiz nights, music evenings, and social activities.
This year, the Club is supporting the
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and has raised an impressive £3,500. Previous beneficiaries have included Prostate Cancer UK and the Chigwell Riding Trust.
Upcoming events include:
- Donkey Derby – 12 July 2026, Theydon Bois
- Quiz Night – 10 October 2026, Grange Farm Centre, Chigwell (TBC)
Cllr Rye attended following an introduction at a recent quiz event and commented:
“It was a fantastic evening, and the club members were very friendly and welcoming.”
