Chigwell Parish Councillors to hold Surgery at Chigwell Library

Residents are invited to attend a
Councillor Surgery with
Chair of Chigwell Parish Council, Cllr Debby Rye, and
Vice-Chair, Cllr Tosin Amuludun, at Chigwell Library on Saturday 4 July between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
The surgery provides an opportunity for residents to meet directly with their local Parish Councillors, discuss issues affecting the community and raise any concerns, suggestions, or local matters they would like the Council to consider.
What is a Councillor Surgery?A Councillor Surgery is an informal opportunity for residents to speak with their elected representatives on a one-to-one basis. Whether you have a concern about your local area, would like to suggest improvements to community facilities, or simply want to learn more about the work of the Parish Council, Councillors will be available to listen and offer guidance where appropriate.
What Does a Parish Councillor Do?Parish Councillors are elected representatives who serve the local community and help make decisions on behalf of residents. They work to improve local facilities and services, represent community views and help shape the future of the parish.
Parish Councillors are involved in matters including:
- Parks, playgrounds and open spaces.
- Community halls and public facilities.
- Cemeteries and allotments.
- Community events and initiatives.
- Environmental improvements.
- Supporting local groups and organisations.
- Representing residents' views on local issues.
- Working with district, county and other public bodies on matters affecting the parish.
- Councillors play an important role in ensuring that local people have a voice in decisions affecting their community.
