Councillors Meet to Discuss Local Issues Affecting Chigwell

Chigwell Parish Council recently hosted an informal meeting bringing together Parish, District and County Councillors to discuss matters affecting the local community and strengthen partnership working across all levels of local government.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Councillors to share information, raise local concerns, and explore collaborative solutions to issues impacting residents. A key topic of discussion was the recent disruption to the local water supply. Councillors highlighted that, as residents themselves, many had also been affected by the incident and have been actively engaging with the utility provider on behalf of the community. Further engagement with relevant organisations is planned, and residents will be kept informed of any developments.

Members also discussed road safety and traffic-related issues affecting the parish, together with opportunities to work collaboratively with partner organisations to improve communication and minimise disruption to residents.

An update was received regarding ongoing efforts to tackle fly-tipping, including the use of CCTV and other measures to help identify and prosecute offenders where appropriate.

The meeting also considered forthcoming local government reforms and the potential opportunities and challenges these may present for local communities. Councillors were keen to ensure that Chigwell's interests continue to be represented as proposals develop.

The Council welcomes continued partnership working and looks forward to working with local authorities, service providers and community organisations to address local issues, share information and deliver positive outcomes for residents.
