Planning South decisions - 2nd March

You can watch and hear the Plan South meeting of 2nd March 2022 where District Councillors voted unanimously to overrule the planners' recommendation for approval and refuse the planning application to build a burial ground on the Green Belt land alongside Chigwell Rise. There were over 260 objections from residents which definitely had an impact on the decision. We at the Parish spoke in objection and questioned why Epping's Tree and Landscape officer's objection to this was not included by planners in the documentation they presented to Plan South. District Councillors then also questioned the same. When an answer becomes available, we will advise residents.

Planning South Decisions - 5th January

You can watch the meeting watch and hear the Planning South meeting of 5th Jan here where the application for six flats on top of Brook Parade was refused.  Sadly the recent relaxation of permitted development rights by Robert Jenrick when he was Housing Secretary have led to prior approval for four flats here but Chigwell Parish Council continue to demand a more democratic process for contentious prior approval applications.

Planning South decisions - 2nd Feb

The Chair of the Council spoke at Plan South in objection to a proposed block of flats at 2 Courtland Drive, Chigwell which was refused by the committee.  You can watch and hear the Plan South meeting of 2nd Feb here
