International Women's Day - BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chigwell

On Saturday the 14th March 2026, women were invited to the International Women's Day event at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, held in Chigwell.

The event, which has taken place every year since 2018, is held as a celebration of women and a time for our community to come together, to learn, inspire and take comfort in the sisterhood. This year’s theme was 'Give to Gain: Selfless Growth'.

There were a number of speakers, including a mother and daughter telling us how mentoring has played a big role in the challenges they have faced and how they both continue to inspire each other, as well as Doctor Megha Sharma, MBBS, who informed us about breast cancer, how to check ourselves and more importantly, to speak to a practitioner as soon as possible if we were at all worried.

The event ended with traditional dancing and a lovely curry was served.
