Chigwell Climate Action Working Group

The role of the Working Group is to help Chigwell combat the twin climate and ecological emergencies, in particular to help Chigwell achieve its commitment of reducing carbon emissions to zero by 2030. The group is a mixture of councillors and local people. We meet on Zoom for an hour every month or two, and communicate in the meantime by email and WhatsApp. The first task of the group is to consult experts on a) how to audit our current position re the climate and biodiversity, and b) what steps we need to take to achieve our goals. Current members are: Chris Lord (Chair), Parish Councillors Naveed Akhtar, Elliott Costa, Celina Jefcoate, District Councillor Alan Lion, County Councillor Lee Scott, Erika Skingsley, Lorraine Smart and Richard Coates.
