St Winifred's Church - 90th Anniversary Celebrations

On Sunday 20th July, St Winifred’s Church held its 90th anniversary celebration. Parish Councillors and residents were invited to the special service followed by a fantastic barbecue.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Lorraine Smart, and the Archdeacon of Bradwell, the Ven. Jonathan Croucher, also made a speech and gave a short sermon.

The church service was a happy, upbeat affair with Sandi Forshaw enlightening us with interesting facts about the history of St Winifred’s and the surrounding area.

After the service, everyone moved to the neighbouring hall, where a barbecue was cooked in the garden and a wonderful array of food was provided for all to enjoy.

Chigwell Parish Council would like to thank the Rev. Lorraine Smart, the congregation, volunteers, and helpers for making us feel so welcome and for making St Winifred’s 90th anniversary celebration such a joyous event.
